The Nintendo Switch has earned itself another number one hit, although it does prove that Fire Emblem isn’t as big as Zelda.
At this time of year, with so few big new releases around, it doesn’t take much to hit the top spot, but Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has done well nonetheless, with sales up over 45% on its predecessor from 2017.
That may be because the new game is presented as an alternative take on the popular Three Houses, but the sales were still 76% less than the similar Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity from 2020.
The only other new entry in the top 40 was also a Switch game, with the new Switch version of Wreckfest seeing the game as a whole re-entering the charts at number 35.
